About meI am a tree ecophysiologist interested in how changes in temperature and precipitation regimes will alter forest composition and distribution throughout the west. As seedlings represent the next generation of forests, increased understanding of the morphology and physiology of seedlings under different climate scenarios will help us better predict future changes in these forests. I am also interested in scaling functional traits from individuals up to explain landscape level phenomena. I also seem to keep finding myself in grasslands asking questions predominantly about the long-term ramifications of drought.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Colorado State University investigating drought induced mortality in pinon pine. We're updating and predicting mortality in near-real time.
